pstlyfdiva's Diaryland Diary ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This weekend
C has exams this week, so this weekend we decided we were not going to go out with our friends. Even though C could have afforded the actual time out, she couldn’t have afforded a late Sunday rising or a potential hangover. It was wonderful. It felt twice as long as a “normal” weekend. It was happy. Friday night we went to Dickens of a Christmas for a little bit. It is an old-time outdoor holiday festival in the downtown of our city. Vendors line the streets, there are performers and carriage rides. Plus there are people dressed up in Dickens-esque costumes, complete with Tiny Tim wandering the streets. After that we got a quick dinner and went to Target. Home by 10pm to watch Chocolat. C had never seen it, she liked it. Saturday morning C studied while I took Gia to get her nails clipped, as usual, she was a star. She flopped on the couch in exhaustion when we got home. After that C and I went to see Apocolypto, we both thoroughly enjoyed it. Yes it was violent, but not gratuitously, I just looked away at the parts that were too gory. It was the kind of film that you forget it is a movie you are watching, not real life. It was amazing. Sunday morning C studied some more, then we took Gia for a walk in the park behind our house. Not only good exercise, but C took the camera with us to take geological pictures for extra credit in one of her classes. We walked for about an hour – it was a lot of fun. The rest of the day C studied and I wrapped Christmas presents for our two Angels (from the Angel tree). It really was a great weekend…I like doing the more homebody things…I was once a big time party girl, but those days are behind me.
