pstlyfdiva's Diaryland Diary ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This and that The last month has been filled with holiday hustle and bustle. I would say cheer, but let’s be real, we all know how stressful the holiday season can be, “moments of cheer” would be more like it, as opposed to a “season of cheer”. I spent Christmas with family in AZ, once again without C. This year was the hardest. This year my mother needs to face reality and accept that her daughter has made a life with another woman. I think 5 years is long enough. It is time. I want to spend holidays with C. While there I invited my parents to come to Roanoke when they go to DC in the fall, we will see if they do. It would be wonderful if they could meet C and that strange and twisted bridge could finally be crossed. We spent NYE in NC with Miss C and Fab. It was a lot of fun. A lot of shopping, drinking and loud music was involved. Miss C decided that it would be a good idea to try to sit on the sidewalk whilst wearing a black tub dress and stilettos. Of course it was up to me to prevent her from doing that. Fun times, fun times! (Amusingly, in her stupor she looked at me and said, “Didn’t you do this in LA for me?” I did, but that time she was trying to swing herself around a pole for a street sign and was yelling out that she was a pole dancer, which I made her stop post haste. Even when I am drunk I watch out for the ones I care about!) We have decided that this year is “out year” – the year to get our finances, house, relationship and C’s schooling on track. Of course it is also the year for our first REAL vacation together. We now have our hotel and airline booked for 6 days/6 nights in St. Thomas. I know I just mentioned getting our finances in order, but we booked all of this using deals or credit card points and mental health is important too.
